  • HandyTone-488 is an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) with one FXS port
  • If HandyTone-488 loose power, registration or network, you get pass-through from telephone to PSTN (FXO port)
  • The LAN port has default IP address 192.168.2.1
  • Connect a PC directly to this port – the DHCP server will assign IP address to the PC
  • Login with password admin
  • Enable ”WAN side http access” in Advanced Settings

  • Do an update and reboot!

  • The WAN port is then connected to the AlphaCom Ethernet port directly or on the same LAN as the AlphaCom
  • Administration of the HandyTone can then be done from the WAN side also
  • Set WAN IP address in Basic Settings

  • FXS Port settings
- SIP Server: Equal to the AlphaCom IP address
- Outbound Proxy: Equal to the AlphaCom IP address
- User ID: Equal to the Directory Number in AlphaPro
- Enable ”User ID is phone number” and “SIP registration”

Configuration of AlphaCom E

The AlphaCom E needs to be configured with a SIP registrar node.
