The '''Tone Test''' feature is a self‑test that checks whether an intercom’s microphone and loudspeaker are functioning correctly.

The intercom plays a test tone through its loudspeaker and uses '''the built‑in microphone to measure the sound pressure level'''. If the initial test fails, the test will repeat itself three times with an increased volume every time. If the microphone successfully detects the tone, the test passes; if not, it fails.

The Tone Test can be started in multiple ways:
