As standard, all the alarm messages are repeated endlessly, but for some applications they are to be played once or a few times and then stop. For this operation there is a parameter for each of the alarm messages that has to be changed. This parameter is not available from AlphaPro, it has to be changed from the nvram editor in the so-called TST console.

NOTE: Before continuing it is highly recommended to do a backup of AMC memory to Flash. Dial 7820+M from a SuperUser station.

Enable the TST-console:

  • Connect a terminal (or a PC with terminal emulation program) to port 0. Terminal settings: 9600, No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit.
  • Enable the “TST-console” by typing (capital letters):

  • The VDU should respond with “TST-target”, indicating that the TST-console is operative.

Change the number of repetitions of the Alarm Messages:

  • Change parameter for message 1 (Directory number 8191)
