One of the intercom devices in an IC-EDGE system is configured as the Edge Controller. The Edge Controller is acting as a server for the other intercom devices in the system. There can be only one Edge Controller in the installation.
All native Zenitel IP devices can be used as an Edge Controller, with the following exceptions:
- The 1st generation of Zenitel IP devices based on the INCA chipset cannot be used as an Edge Controller. See INCA Stations
- The ITSV-x video phones cannot be used as an Edge Controller.
- The 1st generation Turbine Video intercoms (TCIV-x) can be used as Edge Controller, but with a maximum of 5 stations/devices
