The STENTOFON Vandal Resistant Substation is tough, durable and resilient, and is designed for use in harsh environments. The station has a vandal proof design with 2mm stainless steel front, speaker/microphone protection and a stainless steel call button. The station provides high quality hands-free conversations, using the STENTOFON superb wideband audio and loud volume. Together with the durable design, this makes it the communication station of choice for prison cells, doors, gates and emergency points. The station can be placed up to 4 km from the AlphaCom

exchange without need for any local power source. The station use the traditional 4-wire interface receiving both power and audio in the same cable. To provide maximum availability the station comes with advanced supervision functions. The station line test will detect if there is any faults in the network or station electronics. In addition the station support tone test, testing the complete transmission path including microphone and speaker. The status of the stations is reported to AlphaWeb as well as to 3rd party management systems using SNMP, Syslog or Microsoft OPC.

Vandal Resistant Substation - 1007056100

The Vandal Resistant Substation - 1007056100 is an analog intercom station. It is connected to an ASLT line card in an AlphaCom XE7, AlphaCom XE20 or AlphaCom XE26 server using 2 pairs of wires.

Highlights

  • Made for critical communication
  • Vandal resistant
  • Design in stainless steel to withstand corrosion
  • Vandal resistant call button
  • Superb audio quality (10 kHz)
  • Advanced supervision functions
  • External or extra call button option

Connections

The cabling from the AlphaCom server to the intercom station is star wiring. Two twisted pairs of wires are required. The maximum distance depends on the cable diameter:

  • 0.5 mm wires: 1.4 km
  • 0.6 mm wires: 2.0 km
  • 0.9 mm wires: 4.0 km
Station Connections

  • The station line is connected to the A, B, C and D connector
  • The internal loudspeaker is connected to the LS connector
  • An external loudspeaker can be connected to the EXT LS connector. Minimum impedance is 20 ohms.
  • Call button is connected to KEY1 and ID (= DAK 1)
  • A second call button can be connected to KEY2 and ID+M (= DAK 2)
  • The volume of the internal loudspeaker is controlled by the LS VOL potmeter
  • Private/Open:
    • Soldering pad S1 open: Open mode (default)
    • Soldering pad S1 closed: Privacy mode
