Connecting to nodes in an Alphanet

The way to connect depends on the type of exchange you use.

In a convetional Alphanet you are connecting by a RS232 serial link to the serviceport of the exchange you are with. When this link is established and the Alphanet is programmed correctly you can connect to another node through the node you are at. This is an easy way to test the datalink of your Alphanet.

In a VOIP Alphanet with E exchanges when you press the "Communication" button in AlphaPro it will try to connect directly via IP to the node selected in "Select Exchange". If you want to connect to one node, and go "tunneling" via AlphaNet to another node, you need to select the first node in "Select Exchange", then press "Communication". Now a TCP/IP connection is established to this node. Then in "Select Exchange", you pick the remote AlphaCom exchange. Now a "tunneling connection" will be made to the remote node via the AlphaNet.
