Calling Through Loudspeaker with Answer at Called Speaker

Figure 1.1 Calling Through Loudspeaker with Answer at Called Speaker

Feature Description

The AlphaCom can distribute audio through separate loudspeakers with the possibility of answering at the called speaker. When loudspeakers without amplification are used, there must not be more than 20 such loudspeakers in one system.

Equipment List

  • AlphaCom System with desired station range.
  • Additional loudspeakers.
  • Power Distribution Board PDB 1009970100.
  • Microphone Amplifier Board Dynamic with Relay MADR 1009960100.

In particularly noisy environments, the MADR board should be placed close to the loudspeaker. A MRBD board is then connected between the RCO output and the MADR board input. A local supply of 24 V to the relay on the MADR is needed.

  • PC with AlphaPro program and cable for connection to the AlphaCom exchange.

Installation

Installing the Power Distribution Board

If a PDB board is already installed, you need not switch off the entire exchange. Just unplug the connector on the PDB board supplying power from the exchange.

Caution
Do not extend power cables from the PDB outside the exchange rack environment.
Use local power for remote installation of equipment.

Installing the Microphone Amplifier Board MADR

  • Fasten the MADR board onto one of the mounting rails on the distribution field.
  • Supply the board with 24 V and 0 V (GND) from the Power Distribution Board.
  • Connect the wires according to Figure 15-6 Calling through loudspeaker with answer in called speaker
  • Set the switches in the correct positions.
  • After the programming has been done, adjust the sensitivity of the microphone on the MADR board
