AMC-IP Processor Board (Black)

The new AlphaCom XE processor board comes with more features, greater flexibility and increased audio bandwidth. AlphaCom XE utilizes true IP audio edge devices (IP master stations, IP substations and SIP stations) that provide HD Voice, active noise cancellation, adaptive jitter buffering, and an integrated managed switch with advanced networking and security functions (VL AN, IEEE 802.1X).

Highlights

  • Made to provide critical communication in any environment
  • Supports 552 IP stations
  • Global networking and integration
  • IP, SIP and analog station support
  • Extended Software Options
  • SIM card based software configuration and disaster recovery
  • Backwards compatible with older AlphaCom systems
  • Extended memory supports future expansion and new services
  • High quality professional PA broadcasting and messaging services
  • Security voice guidance for public safety and building security
  • Auto-attendant functionality (Automatic voice supported switchboard)
  • Voice supported call guidance

Installation

The processor board can replace the CPU board in existing AlphaCom E7, E20, E26, 80+ and 138 exchanges, and is standard in the new AlphaCom XE1, XE7, XE20 and XE26 exchanges. In the AlphaCom XE20 and XE26 exchanges the board plugs into board position 25, whereas in the AlphaCom XE7 exchange it plugs into position 7.

The board can be inserted in a powered cabinet by connecting the power hot-plug cable to it prior to insertion. The AMC status LED is red. Remove the plug when the board is in place. If a hot-plug cable is not available, the mains switch must be turned off.

A filter and connection board, FBIP, must be inserted from the rear side of the cabinet in the same board position as the AMC-IP board. This filter board is not needed in AlphaCom XE1 and XE7 where all EMC filters and external connectors are integrated in the backplane.

AMC-IP card installation

Switches and Jumpers

The AMC-IP version 11 board has two 8-bank DIP switches and four jumpers set to default positions at delivery.

NOTE! Do NOT change the default settings unless you are absolutely sure of the consequences!

Serial Port Connections

AMC switch S601 – 1 on:

  • Serial port 0: AlphaPro
  • Serial port 1: Linux Console (115.200 baud, N, 8, 1)

AMC switch S601 – 1 off:

  • Serial port 0 and 1 controlled by the AMC (EDO, MPC data, Pager, ACDP etc.)

Filter Board

A filter and connection board, FBIP, must be inserted from the rear side of the cabinet in the same card position as the AMC-IP card. This filter board is not needed in AlphaCom XE1 and XE7 where all EMC filters and external connectors are integrated in the backplane. A service PC must be connected to Eth0 (default) or to RS232 (Serial Port 0). The USB connector is not available.

Compatibility

The Black AMC-IP card provides full backward compatibility in both software and hardware. All traditional AlphaCom services and interfaces are supported. The card can even support traditional AlphaCom feature cards and cabinets, allowing STENTOFON AlphaCom 80+ and AlphaCom 138 to be upgraded with AlphaCom XE features.

LED indicators

The card has a number of LEDs to indicate the board and Ethernet status.
