All AlphaCom servers in the XE series have one '''AMC-IP board''' (item 1009202100) delivered at shipment. The AMC-IP board is the main CPU card in the server. The server configuration is stored on ths board, and it handles all call processing.

The new AlphaCom XE processor board comes with more features, greater flexibility and increased audio bandwidth. AlphaCom XE utilizes true IP audio edge devices (IP master stations, IP substations and SIP stations) that provide HD Voice, active noise cancellation, adaptive jitter buffering, and an integrated managed switch with advanced networking and security functions (VL AN, IEEE 802.1X).

*Made to provide critical communication in any environment
The processor board offers more capacity than ever, allowing for additional software-based features and functions such as PA broadcasting and messaging services, security voice guidance, internal and external networking, call billing, audio conferencing and SIP station support. STENTOFON ’s CCoIP® (Critical Communication over IP) implies the employment of Voice over IP applications required in critical situations. AlphaCom XE is designed with CCoIP incorporation which ensures the delivery of instant and secure voice and data services. The AlphaCom XE system provides carrier class system availability and protects resources in an IP environment by using embedded IP security mechanisms. The main security mechanisms used are restricted management access, separate management interface, internal firewall, integrity check (MD5), virtual LAN (IEEE 802.1Q) and network access control (IEEE 802.1X).<br/>

===Inserting the STIC card===
The processor board can replace the CPU board in existing AlphaCom E7, E20, E26, 80+ and 138 exchanges, and is standard in the new AlphaCom XE1, XE7, XE20 and XE26 exchanges. In the AlphaCom XE20 and XE26 exchanges the board plugs into board position 25, whereas in the AlphaCom XE7 exchange it plugs into position 7.
+
Before inserting the AMC-IP board into the AlphaCom XE Server, a STIC (STentofon Identity Card) must be inserted in the the AMC-IP board. The STIC looks like the SIM card in mobile phones. There are two different versions of the STIC, one is for the XE1/XE7 servers, and one for the XE20/XE26 servers. Amongst other things, the STIC contains the MAC address of the AMC-IP board.

The board can be inserted in a powered cabinet by connecting the power hot-plug cable to it prior to insertion. The AMC status LED is red. Remove the plug when the board is in place. If a hot-plug cable is not available, the mains switch must be turned off.
+
Install the STIC card by inserting it into the SIM Card socket of the AMC-IP board, as indicated in the picture to the right.

A filter and connection board, FBIP, must be inserted from the rear side of the cabinet in the same board position as the AMC-IP board. This filter board is not needed in AlphaCom XE1 and XE7 where all EMC filters and external connectors are integrated in the backplane.

Inserting the STIC card

Before inserting the AMC-IP board into the AlphaCom XE Server, a STIC (STentofon Identity Card) must be inserted in the the AMC-IP board. The STIC looks like the SIM card in mobile phones. There are two different versions of the STIC, one is for the XE1/XE7 servers, and one for the XE20/XE26 servers. Amongst other things, the STIC contains the MAC address of the AMC-IP board.

Install the STIC card by inserting it into the SIM Card socket of the AMC-IP board, as indicated in the picture to the right.

Compatibility

The black AMC-IP processor board (1009202100) can replace the red AMC-IP board (1009202000) in existing AlphaCom E7, E20, E26, 80+ and 138 servers. The Black AMC-IP card provides full backward compatibility in both software and hardware. All traditional AlphaCom services and interfaces are supported. The card can even support traditional AlphaCom feature cards and cabinets, allowing STENTOFON AlphaCom 80+ and AlphaCom 138 to be upgraded with AlphaCom XE features.
