TKIE Connections

This article describes all Turbine Extended Kit connections.
There are two RJ-45 ports located on the Turbine Extended Kit that are used for PoE/LAN Ethernet connection.
There are 6 I/O connectors available on the Turbine Extended Kit. These connections are used as digital input (eg. from a closing contact) or LED driver output (12mA max).
Ethernet/Power | The Turbine Extended Kit supports Power over Ethernet (PoE, IEEE 802.3 a-f) where power can be drawn from either the spare line or signal line.* |
Secondary Power | If PoE is not available, the Turbine Extended Kit can be powered from a 24-48 VDC local power supply.** |
Relays | Two Double Throw relay contacts with 60W switching power. COM, NO, NC contacts are provided. |
Input/Output | 6 I/Os are available. Each I/O can be configured as either input or a 12mA LED driver output. |
Audio Line Out | A balanced 600 ohm audio line out with induction loop signal |
- When the Turbine Kit is connected to the network, its IP address is automatically obtained from a DHCP server or an IP address in the range 169.254.x.x will be assigned.
- To make the kit speak its IP address:
- - connect a speaker to the speaker output
- - connect a button to input 1
- - press the button after startup
Power Supply
The Turbine Extended Kit supports Power over Ethernet (PoE, IEEE 802.3 a-f) where power can be drawn from either the spare line or signal line. If PoE is not available, the Turbine Extended Kit can be connected to a 24 VDC local power supply.
