The router has default IP address 192.168.2.1 and the handset will get 192.168.2.x (DHCP). The handset is configured with number 9559, and set to registrer to the AlphaCom at IP address 192.168.2.100, mask 255.255.255.0.

To make it work you need to do the following steps: - Connect the Computer port #1 of the router to AlphaCom ethernet port 1.

AlphaWeb: - In AlphaWeb -> Interfaces, Eth 1: Configure to 192.168.2.100, mask 255.255.255.0.

AlphaPro: - Enter the IP address 192.168.2.100 at ethernet port 1. - Create a SIP registrar node linked to ethernet port 1, and link it to AlphaCom in NetRouting window - In the Directory and features list create a directory number 9559, feature 83/<SIP node>, and appropriate display text (e.g. "Donzelli")

That should be all.

I did no configuration of the router at all, default settings are used (The WiFi is open, there is no encryption). The SSID of the router is: "belkin54g"

Phone settings:

  • Menu -> WiFi-Settings - > Signal Protocol -> SIP:
    • SIP Registrar Server Mode: IP
    • SIP Registrar Server IP Address: 192.168.2.100
    • SIP Outbound Proxy Mode: IP
    • SIP Outbound Server IP Address: 192.168.2.100
    • SIP User Name: 9559
  • Menu -> Network Service - > Personal Information: Caller ID = Andersen

This is the caller ID seen in the AlphaCom display station when the SIP phone calls the AlphaCom.

To search for the WiFI net from the telephone, select Menu -> WiFi-Settings -> Net Search. Now "belkin54g" should appear. Select "belkin54g" and "Save" twice. Then "Security Mode" is displayed, select OK, then "Open AP" = OK. Finally "Activate" = OK.

The phone has a Web interface which also can be used for configuration of the phone. The IP address of the phone is found in Menu -> WiFi-Settings ->Network Parameter -> Network Info.

I've noticed that if the router is switched off and on, the phone do not connect to the WiFi network afterwards. You have to switch off and on the phone. I don't know why, maybe a bug in the phone, but for demo's I believe it is ok. I though you should know, might save you some trouble...
