Device Users and Passwords (Zenitel Connect Pro)

The Users and Passwords page allows configuration of credentials used by services running locally on Zenitel devices.

Navigate to Devices and Connections -> Configuration. Select the Password icon
.
The following service accounts can be configured:
- ONVIF Users
- RTSP User
- HTTP MJPEG User (camera-equipped devices only)
ONVIF Users
By default, three ONVIF users are available. Each user has a predefined username.
For each ONVIF user, the following settings can be configured:
- Password
- Role
Available roles:
- User
- Operator
- Admin
Additional ONVIF users can be created by selecting the (+) button below the user list.
Typical Usage
ONVIF users are used by third-party video management systems (VMS), network video recorders (NVRs), and other ONVIF-compatible applications when connecting to the device.
RTSP User
The RTSP User credentials are used for audio and video streaming via RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol).
Configure:
- Username
- Password
Typical Usage
These credentials are required by applications that access live media streams directly from the device using RTSP.
HTTP MJPEG User
The HTTP MJPEG User credentials are used for video streaming in MJPEG format over HTTP.
Configure:
- Username
- Password
Note: This setting is only available on devices equipped with a camera.
Typical Usage
These credentials are typically used by applications that retrieve MJPEG video streams through an HTTP connection.
Security Recommendations
To improve system security:
- Use strong passwords for all service accounts. The password must be at least 12 characters long. Must contain A-Z. Must contain a-z. Must contain special characters.
- Change default passwords before deploying devices in production environments.
- Assign the lowest privilege level required for each ONVIF user.
- Remove unused accounts where possible.
- Store credentials securely according to your organization's security policy.
