The tone test is designed to check whether the microphone and loudspeaker is working by playing a tone and detecting the sound pressure level. The result of the tone test is reported using SNMP traps, which must be turned on in the SNMP configuration.
Turbine Stations ver. 6.1.3.0 and newer
- Log into the IP Station
- Enable Advanced Configuration Mode
- Select Advanced SIP > Tone test
- Enabled: This parameter turns on or off the Tone test function
- Tone Selection: Select one out of eight different tone patterns. Use different tone patterns for stations close to each other.
- Time between Tone Test: This parameter decides how often the tone test should be repeated. Use 0 to do tone test only on startup.
The Tone Test retries automatically with higher volume if the first tone test fails. A SNMP trap stating that the tone test failed will only be sent if the tone test fails with higher tone volume.
Turbine Stations ver. 6.0 and earlier
- Log into the IP Station
- Enable Advanced Configuration Mode
- Select Advanced SIP > Tone test
- Enabled: This parameter turns on or off the Tone test function
- Tone Volume: This parameter specifies how loud the tone will be played out on the speaker.
- Minimum dB difference: Minimum energy difference between silence and tone.
- Time between Tone Test: This parameter decides how often the tone test should be repeated.
The Tone Test retries automatically with higher volume if the first tone test fails. A SNMP trap stating that the tone test failed will only be sent if the tone test fails with higher tone volume.
INCA Stations
- Log into the IP Station
- Select Advanced SIP > Tone test
- Enable tone test: This parameter turns on or off the Tone test function
- Automatically set minimum sound pressure level: By enabling this feature the station tries to calculate the parameter 'Minimum sound pressure level'. This feature should only be turned on after the station is mounted in a wall (or elsewhere) and must be redone if the station is moved. The microphone and speaker must be working correctly for an accurate result
- Tone volume: This parameter specifies how loud the tone will be played out on the speaker.
- Time between tone tests: This parameter decides how often the tone test should be repeated.
- Minimum sound pressure level: This parameter decides the minimum sound pressure level before the station reports that the tone test failed. Lower this parameter if the tone test fails when it should be working.
