Flowire

Flowire is based on the HomePlug AV power line communications specification, only using 24 - 48 V DC as the medium. It is a network bridge between Ethernet and a PLC link.

There are three variants:

The versions

  • FCDC-1 (1008080110 ) - Forwards power to the spare pairs of the Ethernet port
  • FCDC-2 (1008080210) - Does not forward power to the Ethernet port
Note icon The FCDC-1 is directly forwarding the power from the Power Supply Unit to the Ethernet port (802.3af Type 1 mode B only). This means it is using the spare pairs only for power, and there is no auto-sensing of polarity or load. It is not using PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology
