- HandyTone-488 is an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) with one FXS port
- If HandyTone-488 loose power, registration or network, you get pass-through from telephone to PSTN (FXO port)
- The LAN port has default IP address 192.168.2.1
- Connect a PC directly to this port – the DHCP server will assign IP address to the PC
- Login with password admin
- Enable ”WAN side http access” in Advanced Settings
- Do an update and reboot!
- The WAN port is then connected to the AlphaCom Ethernet port directly or on the same LAN as the AlphaCom
- Administration of the HandyTone can then be done from the WAN side also
- Set WAN IP address in Basic Settings
- FXS Port settings
- - SIP Server: Equal to the AlphaCom IP address
- - Outbound Proxy: Equal to the AlphaCom IP address
- - User ID: Equal to the Directory Number in AlphaPro
- - Enable ”User ID is phone number” and “SIP registration”

The AlphaCom E needs to be configured with a SIP registrar node.
