The AlphaCom system is prepared for distribution of audio programs. There must be an external audio source as input to each program, a radio, CD-player, alarm device or other sound input.

A number of inputs for audio programs are available, depending on the system configuration. By default 6 audio program inputs are available via the APC board for the AlphaCom E20 and AlphaCom E26, and 2 audio program inputs for the AlphaCom E7. The number of audio program inputs can be expanded by using AGA board.

Audio Program selection

To select a program, dial the program number (default 801 - 806, 8101 - 8132). The program is temporarily disconnected by outgoing and incoming calls, but remains on during Group Calls and All Calls.

To switch off a program, press the C-key or dial 800.

When lifting the handset the dialing tone is normally heard, replacing any program. To listen to the program with the handset off, simply hold the M-key down while lifting the receiver, and the dialing tone is not turned on.

Additional Information

  • Each Program Distribution Board installed reduces the maximum number of subscribers in the system by 6.
  • APF boards were earlier used for program distribution. They have been replaced by AGA boards.
  • Priority Programs are not turned off during calls. (programmable per program).

Program Step

You can step through a list of available programs by dialing 790 on your station. Program off (800) is always included in the list. There are two alternative program step sequences: 3 or 6 programs.

The sequences are after autoload :

  • Program 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and off.
  • Program 1, 2, 3 and off.
  • The number of programs in each sequence is programmable. The sequence setting is valid for the entire system.
  • Each station can choose between sequence 1 or 2.

Program step codes:

  • 790 - step up
  • 791 - step down
  • 792 - restore last

Program Priority

Program can be given 4 different priority levels affecting the program in the following way:

* low the program is turned off during conversation.
* medium and high the program remains on during conversations.
* alarm activates the handset & volume override for InterGuard stations if the program is activated by remote set-up to Group. This is used to distribute an alarm message as a program.

Turning on Programs at Other Stations

From selected stations, for example a control room station, you can remotely set up a program to another intercom station, or to a group of stations. To set up a program remotely to another station, dial 74, then the subscriber number and the program number. To set up a program to a group of subscribers, dial 75, the group number and the program number.

Additional Information

  • It is possible to prevent stations from canceling programs.
  • After a reset of the exchange, the program set-up is restored.

Software

  • AMC 07.01 to prevent stations from canceling programs.
