Door opening from an operator intercom
- The door is opened by pressing digit '6' during the conversation with the door intercom. The Door Opening feature can trigger:
- The relay of the door intercom, or
- The Zenitel Connect Pro can publish an event to an integrated access control system. The integrated security system can use the event to visualize the event to the operator and log the door opening event
- An operator must be granted permission to trigger the Door Opening feature.
Door opening from an integrated system
Zenitel Connect may be integrated with a security system from which it is possible to send a command to open the door. Follow the instructions for that security system. The system will send a command via Zenitel Link. Zenitel Connect will act on that in the same way as if an operator had pressed digit 6 on the operator intercom.
Door opening action setup
- In Devices and Connections > Configuration, select the door intercom
- The action for the door opening is configured in Call Settings
- Select from the drop-down list one of the following:
- No door opening - this is the default setting for all devices
- Door opening, only data event - No physical output will be activated, only event data will be sent out on Zenitel Link
- Own device - An output on the selected door intercom will be activated; in addition, Zenitel Link will send out event data
- Any other device from the list - Option to use output on a different device, typically located in a safe zone, due to security considerations. In addition, Zenitel Link will send out event data
Permission
The operator intercom must have the door opening permission as part of the Call Service assigned to it. There are 2 different permissions:
- Door opening during conversation - caller
- Door opening during conversation - callee
Normally, the call is initiated from the door intercom, in which case the operator is the callee.
