How to restore the AlphaCom password

If the logon password to AlphaWeb and AlphaPro is lost for some reason, there are for security reasons no ways to find out what the password was. The only possibility to gain access to the system, is to reset the password to default by following the procedure below, and then log on to AlphaWeb and change the password again.

AMC software version 11

This procedure will reset all AlphaWeb configuration, such as password, IP address and filter settings, to default settings. These parameters must be reprogrammed. The AMC configuration (i.e. everything you program from AlphaPro) will be kept.

• Make a backup to flash (7820 + M-key from a SuperUser station)
• Load the AMC-IP with factory default settings by keeping the button on the AMC-IP pressed for 2 seconds while resetting the exchange. This will reset all configuration, and load a default XML file. The XML file contains all AlphaWeb settings, such as password and IP address.
• Restore the configuration from flash (dial 7819 + M-key from a SuperUser station). This will restore the AMC configuration, but the AlphaWeb configuration will remain default. This means that you can log on using the default username and password
• Log on to AlphaWeb on Ethernet 0 port using the default IP address 169.254.1.5, and the default username admin and password alphaadmin
• Go to System Configuration > User Management and change the username and password to what you desire. Note that all other AlphaWeb parameters, such as IP address and filter settings has to be entered again.
• Reset the AMC-IP board.

AMC software version 10

In AMC version 10 the AlphaWeb configuration (i.e. the XML configuration file) is included in the "7820" backup, together with the AlphaPro configuration.

• Make a backup to flash (7820 + M-key from a SuperUser station)
• Load the AMC-IP with factory default settings by keeping the button on the AMC-IP pressed for 2 seconds while resetting the exchange. This will reset all configuration, and load a default XML file. The XML file contains all AlphaWeb settings, such as password and IP address.
• Restore the configuration from flash (dial 7819 + M-key from a SuperUser station). This will restore the AMC configuration and the AlphaWeb configuration, but until next reset the AMC-IP board will still use the default AlphaWeb settings. This means that you can log on using the default username and password
• Log on to AlphaWeb on Ethernet 0 port using the default IP address 169.254.1.5, and the default username admin and password alphaadmin
• Go to System Configuration > User Management and change the username and password to what you desire.
• Reset the AMC-IP board.
• The AMC-IP board will now be operational with the same configueration as when you started, except the password which was changed.

XE1

If the AlphaCom in question is an XE1, then there is of course impossible to restore the database with 7819+M. After the complete coldstart all stations are set to analogue, so there will be no station to dial the restore code on. A workaround procedure must be followed:

• Make a backup to flash (7820 + M-key from a SuperUser station)
• Load the AMC-IP with factory default settings by keeping the button on the AMC-IP pressed for 2 seconds while resetting the exchange. This will reset all configuration, and load a default XML file. The XML file contains all AlphaWeb settings, such as password and IP address.
• Create a new database in AlphaPro and set physical station 1 as a CCoIP station.
• Send the database to the exchange
• Register an IP station to the AlphaCom using the 1st physical user.
• Restore the configuration from flash (dial 7819 + M-key from the registered SuperUser station). This will restore the AMC configuration and the AlphaWeb configuration, but until next reset the AMC-IP board will still use the default AlphaWeb settings. This means that you can log on using the default username and password
• Log on to AlphaWeb on Ethernet 0 port using the default IP address 169.254.1.5, and the default username admin and password alphaadmin
• Go to System Configuration > User Management and change the username and password to what you desire.
• Reset the AMC-IP board.
• The AMC-IP board will now be operational with the same configueration as when you started, except the password which was changed.
