AMAG Symmetry - Zenitel Connect integration

From Zenitel Wiki

Introduction

The following article explains, step by step, how to set up an integration between Zenitel Connect and AMAG Symmetry.

It is assumed that you have installed AMAG Symmetry with valid licenses and Connect Pro with a valid license, see below.

Capabilities

  • When a call request is made, video surveillance cameras can be moved to the caller’s location and automatically displayed to the Symmetry system operator.
  • Incoming intercom calls can be displayed on a graphical map along with all other integrated system elements to allow a unified visual interface for control.
  • Intercom stations can be linked through Symmetry to nearby security assets, allowing the system operator to release a door, open a barrier, or take other required actions—easily, even in large-scale systems.
  • Incoming intercom calls can be treated as alarms in critical environments.

Compatibility

  • Symmetry: 9, 10, 11
  • Zenitel Connect Pro: 1.6 or higher

Licensing

Zenitel Connect:

  • 1 Zenitel Link license is required per Zenitel Connect and AMAG Symmetry system.

Symmetry:

  • INTERCOM-KIT – Intercom license for Symmetry. Only one per Symmetry system is required.
  • VID-CAM – Video Integration License. One is needed for each Zenitel device camera added to Symmetry.

Configuring Amag Symmetry

Open the Symmetry Client application and navigate to the Install tab. Select Intercom, then select Client. After the Client dialog opens, click New to add a new Client. In Symmetry, a Client represents an Operator or Reception – a main desk or position for handling calls.

The next step is to navigate to the Install tab, select Intercom, and choose Stations. Add the stations that have been discovered and paired in Zenitel Connect, using the same directory number.

Once you have defined the Client and Station, go back to the Client, navigate to Extended Properties, and click on Connect Pro Configuration. Now you can fill in the fields with the Zenitel Connect data and click the Connect button. After a successful connection, you can select the system Operator, which is the Client you created a few steps earlier. When the connection is established successfully, you can now operate Zenitel Connect devices within AMAG Symmetry.

Connection to Zenitel Connect

After configuration, when you run the Symmetry system, the only thing you need to do to connect is navigate to the Client dialog and the Extended Property tab. If you have a valid configuration, it will trigger an automatic connection to Connect, and you will see the Status as Connected.

Map

Navigate to the Home tab and select Graphics.

New form will be open and inside that window you can place map and device on map.

Call Handling

Navigate to the Home tab and select Intercom. Now you can operate with Intercoms. When a device has an Online status, you can receive and make calls. Once a call is established, the video from the calling Intercom will be displayed..
