Configuring the DANS

DANS Configuration

DANS01 configuration is done via the PAVA System Configuration Tool (PAVA SCT)

1. Add DANS to audio inputs as required by right clicking the Audio Input > Add > DANS. (Each audio router allows up to twelve DANS01 sensors to be connected)

2.Navigate to System > PA/VA Cluster > Rack Node > Audio Router > Noise Control

For each “DANS Processing” column:

a. Set “Output” to the output that is to be controlled by DANS01.

• Each audio router allows up to four outputs to be controlled by DANS01.

b. Set “Sensors” to the DANS01 sensor(s) controlling this output.

• Each DANS01 controlled output can be controlled by up to four DANS01 sensors.
• A single DANS01 can control up to four outputs.

c. Set “Adjacent Outputs” to the outputs that are in range of the DANS01 sensor(s).

• Adjacent outputs are outputs that are close or loud enough to be detected by DANS01 sensor(s).
• Each DANS01 controlled output allows up to four adjacent outputs.

Adding DANS to an Audio Input

Route Configuration Required for Commissioning

DANS01 requires the following route configuration for commissioning and test of the system. 1. ANS enabled pink noise:

• Can be DVA or misc source.
• Configured to individually route to each DANS01 controlled and DANS01 adjacent output. Multiple routes or zone select buttons may be required to achieve this.
• Set “ANS” to “Enabled”.
• Input level set to 0 dB.

2. ANS disabled controlled pink noise:

• Can be DVA or misc source.
• Configured to individually route to each DANS01 controlled and DANS01 adjacent output. Multiple routes or zone select buttons may be required to achieve this.
• Set “ANS” to “None”.
• Input level set to 0 dB.

3. ANS enabled announcement:

• Can be DVA, microphone PTT, or misc source.
• Configured to individually route to each DANS01 controlled and DANS01 adjacent output. Multiple routes or zone select buttons may be required to achieve this.
• Set “ANS” to “Enabled”.
• Input level set to as required for full volume announcement.

4. ANS disabled announcement (i.e. or emergency):

• Can be DVA, microphone PTT, or misc source.
• Configured to individually route to each DANS01 controlled and DANS01 adjacent output. Multiple routes or zone select buttons may be required to achieve this.
• Set “ANS” to “None”.
• Input level set to as required for full volume announcement.
