Loop monitoring provides continuous supervision of a loudspeaker circuit by wiring the speaker line as a closed loop, allowing the amplifier to monitor the entire cable path to and from the final loudspeaker. This enables the system to detect cable faults, such as open circuits and short circuits, while continuously verifying the integrity of the loudspeaker line.

As shown in the diagram, the loudspeaker line leaves the amplifier, passes through each loudspeaker, and returns to the amplifier on a separate conductor, forming a complete loop. The amplifier continuously supervises this loop, and if an open circuit occurs, the LSZDC card provides fault-tolerant recovery by feeding the loudspeaker line from both directions. This ensures that loudspeakers beyond the fault can continue to operate, making loop monitoring an excellent choice where high system availability and redundancy are required.
