Multi Cluster Secure Loop Description
The Multi Cluster Secure Loop topology can consist of a scalable private Ethernet network of up to 10 independent VIPEDIA clusters, with each cluster accommodating up to 30 VIPEDIA/INTEGRA devices. Nodes can be deployed in either Standalone or A/B redundant configurations for increased system resilience, with interconnections provided over either copper or fibre Ethernet.
Each cluster operates as an independent Layer 2 network within its own dedicated VLAN, providing logical separation of network traffic. This reduces broadcast and multicast traffic, improves overall network performance, enhances security between clusters, and simplifies system maintenance and future expansion.
Communication between clusters is managed by Layer 3 switches, which perform controlled inter-VLAN routing. Each VLAN is configured with its own gateway interface (SVI), allowing authorised traffic to pass between clusters while maintaining network isolation. This architecture enables a secure, scalable network where audio, control, and GPIO communications can be shared across clusters, allowing any authorised input to be routed to any output or zone within the private network.
