Introduction

Using the ONVIF S protocol, Zenitel audio and video intercoms, and IP speakers can be connected to OpenEye Apex, enabling audio-verification alongside video for incident response, paging to Zenitel devices, and logging of audio/video sessions for audit and review.

Compatibility

The integration has been verified by OpenEye to work with Zenitel firmware version 6.4.3.0 or later.

Functionality

  • Device discovery
  • Real-time video stream from Zenitel devices visible in OpenEye Command Station.
  • Inbound audio from Zenitel device microphone heard through Command Station.
  • Outbound audio from Command Station and OpenEye mobile app to Zenitel device speaker.

Licensing

A camera license is required for each intercom that is connected to OpenEye Apex.

Zenitel devices connected to Zenitel Connect Pro need a system license for Zenitel Link to enable ONVIF (1 per Zenitel Connect Pro system, not per device). Zenitel devices running in SIP, IC-EDGE, ICX-AlphaCom mode do not need an extra license.

Configuration

Set-up and configuration of Zenitel devices

Ensure that ONVIF services are enabled on the Zenitel device:

  • Enable the ONVIF Discovery Service under ONVIF settings on Zenitel Connect Pro or the device web interface.
  • Enable Report Station call events as Digital Input in ONVIF under ONVIF settings on Zenitel Connect Pro or the device web interface.
  • Confirm RTSP stream is enabled on the device and using an ONVIF-supported codec (H.264 video, G.711 or AAC for audio).
  • Set audio source priority to microphone for initial setup.
Warning icon If the device is connected to Zenitel Connect Pro, the configuration has to be done on the Zenitel Connect Pro device configuration page. If not, Zenitel Connect Pro will overwrite your device configuration.
