VR3G-1(P) Mounting and Dimensions

From Zenitel Wiki

VR3G-1 and VR3G-1P stations

Installation

The VR3G-1 and VR3G-1P can be powered by PoE. This is done by connecting an Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the station and a PoE switch.

Note icon If PoE is used, the station must be installed using a shielded Ethernet cable with grounding at the switch end

If the switch does not support PoE, a 24VDC power supply can be connected to the stations Power Input.

Note icon If an external power supply is being used, please make sure the power supply matches the station

Mounting

Mounting considerations

Verify that the installation environment meets the product specifications.

To maintain the vandal resistance the station is designed to provide, the intercom must be flush mounted.

Use of the on-wall back box may reduce the station’s vandal resistance and certain anti-ligature features.

The mounting surface must be completely flat, rigid, and stable.

Note icon Any gaps between the intercom and the mounting surface must be avoided, as they may affect fit, vandal resistance, and anti-ligature performance.

Note icon To achieve the IP66 rating, silicone sealant must be applied to the countersunk holes on the front plate, and all around the frame of the station.

Flush mounting

When flush mounting vandal resistant station, use the TA-37 - 3 Gang Flush Mount back box.

TA-37 - 3 Gang Backbox

  • Ready one of the pre-punched holes in the backbox for power and network wiring.
  • Have the necessary cables ready before starting the mounting procedure
Mount the TA-37

Insert and secure the TA-37 into designated slot in the wall. Make sure that the box is squarely mounted and the front surface flush with the wall surface.

Pull the cable and/or the required wires through the cable opening.

Mount the VR3G-1(P)

Plug the Ethernet cable into LAN port on the station. If the switch does not support PoE, a 24VDC Power Supply can be connected to the stations Power Input.

Terminate all other wires according to the planned system setup.

Mount the station onto the back box with the 6-32 UNC X ¾ fasteners provided. Apply 1.5 Nm / 1.1 lb-ft torque.

Note icon Make sure the Tamper Switch is properly connected to the back end of the back box.

Note icon Re-tighten the screws after mounting, as the gasket behind the front plate will get compressed.

On-wall mounting

When on-wall mounting the vandal resistant station, use the TA-38 - On-Wall Backbox.

  • Have the necessary cables ready before starting the mounting procedure.
  • Use appropriate mounting screws for the installation surface. The back box supports screws up to Ø5 mm.
  • Ensure that the selected fasteners and anchors provide sufficient holding strength for the installation.
Drill holes

  • Create four marks or drill holes for the TA-38 On-Wall Backbox

Ensure that the holes/marks align precisely with the corresponding holes in the On-Wall Backbox when it is correctly oriented.

Mount the TA-38 box

Pull the cable and/or the required wires through the cable opening.

Attach the back-box to the marked location.

Note icon Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant around the perimeter of the backbox at the wall interface to ensure an IP66 rating

Note icon Retighten the screws after mounting, as the gasket behind the front plate will get compressed.
