Vipedia-NET NetworkCardManager

The Vipedia Networkcard Manager is a software tool, in the form of a GUI, that is to be used alongside the Update Manager and can be found in the Tools folder of the firmware bundle, alongside the Update Manager. It enables you to perform a Net-VIPA software update on your Vipedia-NET card, which is integrated within a Vipedia-12 device.
Step by Step Instructions
Exporting The VIPA Configuration From The SCT Tool
- A valid VIPA configuration file (.cfg) is required to target the Vipedia-NET cards.
- If you do not have a separate VIPA .cfg configuration file already, you can extract one from the SCT where the Vipedia-NET cards are configured:
Open the SCT and select File > Export VIPA configuration and save the .cfg file to a known location on you host PC.

Populating The Fields Within NetworkCardManager
Open the Network Card Manager.

1. Click Select VCT Config and navigate to the known location of the VIPA .cfg file
2. Select the VIPA config file. You should now see all Vipedia-NET cards that are configured within the Vipedia Configuration, listed as target devices.

Press "Select NET-VIPA" and navigate to one of the following locations depending on the Vipedia-NET version you are updating to

Verifying Node Reachability
For peace of mind, to confirm visibility of all Vipedia-NET cards, you can ping each IP address and ensure that you receive a response:
1. Type CMD in the Windows start box.
2. In the command prompt terminal, type ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (where x = IP address of Vipedia-Net)

Starting The Vipedia-NET Software Update
Leave "Install Config" unchecked.
1. Press "Update" and you should see the Status change to Connected.
2. You can then monitor the live progress of the Net-VIPA software update within the debug window.

Complete Vipedia-NET Software Update
Once the update has finished, you should see "Complete" against each Vipedia-NET card in the tool.

Writing the Static Configuration
Reload the SCT configuration which includes the Vipedia-NET cards you have updated. The SCT incorporates the VIPA configuration and once written to the Vipedia Router it will also update the Vipedia-NET cards accordingly.
