Configuration Steps
1. Determine the ETH port, on the back of the Vipedia-12, you wish to connect your network switch to (which will contain the MPS's).

2.Register the MPS in System Configuration Tool under the target Vipedia-12 device:
- Open the SCT tool and navigate to the Audio Inputs section of the relevant Vipedia-12 device (Add > MPS G0 IP Mic > MPS10-0G-IP).

3. Configure the IP settings underneath the "Basic Settings" tab
- Review and set each parameter according to the operational requirements of the installation, refer to the table below for a breakdown of each parameter and its function:
| Live Announcement Parameters | Purpose |
| Key Switch Controlled | Certain announcements can only be made by inserting a key into the MPS |
| Priority | Priority of the Live Announcemens - Set this according to your system design requirements |
| Emergency Class | Non-Emergency is what we typically set the MPS to. Low/High Emergency are reserved for emergency microphones |

| Relative Gain | The different types (1-8) can be configured in the RDT. Turning this up boosts the mic's signal into the system, turning it down attenuates it, and the setting is applied relative to whatever the baseline/reference level is for that input. An example for using this may be when you have a speaker close to an MPS and wish to have a lower output dB level in order to prevent interference. |
- Ensure to include the:
- Unit ID
- IP Address
- Control Port
- MAC Address

4. Assign button functions in Buttons Selection
- Move to the "Buttons Selection" tab to map physical MPS buttons to their intended functions. Select button types based on established, commonly used configurations to maintain consistency across deployments. The most frequently used types are summarized below:
| Button Configuration Options | Purpose |
| Zone Select | The button function is an output zone selection. i.e. the button is pressed to select an output or group of outputs to which audio from the microphone (or other audio input) is to be routed. Typically, one or more of these buttons are pressed before pressing the Push To Talk (PTT) button to make a live announcement.These buttons are also used prior to other functions, such as selectable digital voice announcement (DVA) routing, volume control, etc. |
| All Call | The button function is ‘select all zones’. When the button is pressed, all ZONE SELECT buttons on the microphone are automatically selected. If a ZONE SELECT button is pressed after the ALL CALL button, it will be removed from the selection |
| Fixed Route |
The button function is to route audio source(s) to specific output zone(s). It enables a route to be made that connects inputs to outputs. Inputs are typically DVA messages, however, other types of inputs such as microphone and background music can also be routed. Note that DVA messages can be configured to play a required number of times or until the route is manually cleared. Fixed routes can be configured to be manually cleared by:

| Selectable Route | The button function is ‘play an audio input to selected outputs’. When the button is pressed, a route is made connecting an input to output zones which have been pre-selected using ZONE SELECT buttons. An audio input is typically a DVA message, however, other types of inputs such as microphone and background music can also be selected for routing. Note that DVA messages can be configured to play a required number of times or until the route is manually cleared by pressing the SELECTABLE ROUTING button a second time |
| Cancel | When the button is pressed, the associated routes will be cancelled. A CANCEL button with appropriate access level can be used to cancel any fixed route that is activated by a microphone button or a contact |
| Volume Increase | When the button is pressed, the volume of outputs which have been pre-selected using ZONE SELECT buttons is increased. Note that this only affects routes that are configured to allow volume adjustment |
| Volume Decrease | When the button is pressed, the volume of outputs which have been pre-selected using ZONE SELECT buttons is decreased. Note that this only affects routes that are configured to allow volume adjustment. |
| Push-to-Talk | When this button is pressed, it acts the same as the main PTT button however it can be configured with different routing attributes and different pre configured zones. |
| Listen-In | When the button is pressed, a route is made connecting audio output(s) which have been pre-selected using ZONE SELECT buttons to the microphone’s built in speaker or headset (if attached). |
| Accept Faults | When the button is pressed, faults currently in the PA/VA system will be accepted, stopping fault indications flashing. |
| Clear Faults | When the button is pressed, faults currently in the PA/VA system will be cleared, removing all fault indications. |
| Disable LEDs |
This button toggles between two modes:

| Lamp Test | When this button is pressed, all LEDs on the microphone will turn on and off and the LCD screen will display solid characters. The fault sounder will also be tested if it is enabled. |

5. Save and deploy the configuration
- Save the completed configuration to a designated, known location to preserve a reference copy and support future audits or rollbacks. Then write the configuration to the target device(s), completing the deployment and ensuring the MPS operates as configured.

The MPS can be powered in two ways:
- DC Power supply via audio router connections
- Power over Ethernet
