Last Release Date: 2013-07-11

New Features and Enhancements

AE-169 Audio output: Select Mic/speaker signal

Line out can play audio either from VoIP signal or direct from microphone Configurable form TurbineWeb Audio Settings.

AE-217 Make OLED max brightness configurable

It is now possible to configure max OLED brightness from the station web.

Errors Corrected

MTN-361 An emergency group call to stations already in conversation, causes a very loud feedback loop

The emergency group call to stations already in call, gets mixed with the ongoing call and which causes a very loud feedback loop on the those stations.

AE-240 SIP mode "From" is now always encapsulated in < and >

AE-239 In Pulse mode Turbine could end up in open mode when doing both groupcall and normal call at the same time

Station could end up open mode. This is fixed in 3.0.3.4.

AE-238 Conversations when using CS1000 are hung up when registration is sent

The SIP station did not remember state from last registration which CS1000 requires. This is fixed in 3.0.3.4.

AE-237 Discovery function in Turbine stations crashes

Some Turbine stations, appears as disconnected in "Stentofon Stations Offline" while they are registered in Server monitoring and it is possible to make a call to and from these stations.

AE-236 Provisioning of in call function did were reset if not specified

This has been fixed in 3.0.3.4.

AE-235 802.1X date verification could fail

It is now fixed. The 802.1X client does not do date verification anymore.

AE-234 Added support for 3 seperate outbound proxies in SIP mode

Each domain is now associated with a different SIP proxy ip address.

AE-233 Added hostname to SNMP traps

SNMP traps will now contain hostname of the station.

AE-232 Fixed a bug in SIP/Pulse mode where the conversation icon did not blink at startup when not registered

AE-231 The M button backlight does not light up

The M button backlight doesn't light up when the station is configured in Pulse, SIP or Alphacom mode, even when we press the button. it does light only when the station is in factory default mode

AE-230 Fixed a bug in Pulse Server with port in contact header

Hanging up calls and sending SIP INFO would not work against SIP terminals with non-standard SIP port (5060) when Turbine was configured as Pulse Server, this is now fixed.

AE-229 Fixed problem with SIP registration when qop in authentication header is an array

When the authentication header qop field was an array registration would not work. This has been fixed.

AE-228 Can now choose which codecs to use in Pulse and SIP mode

It is now possible to choose which codecs to use and their priority under SIP Configuration.

AE-199 MEMS mic not sensitive enough on distance

There are several reports indicating that the MEMS microphone is not sensitive enough when the user is on a distance from the Turbine station.

While the standard electret mic used in analog stations and regular IP stations is sensitive and can pick up audio from quite a distance, the reports below indicate that the MEMS mic is working OK when the user is close to the station, but the signal gets poor when the user is on a distance, say 1 meter away e.g. in a car.

AE-192 Add Conference talker mic led control in Turbine (DIP protocol)

When talking into a simplex conference the mic led indicator should be lit.

AE-190 Disconnect by button in Pulse on Turbine doesn't work

When changing "Disconnect by button" under Server configuration -> Call and audio settings. It's not possible to save changes. This is because "Disconnect by button" is no longer used. It is possible to configure the setting on individual buttons under DAK settings.

AE-186 Turbine AEC very sensible to noise on far-end signal

Noise on signal from other side in conversation affects local talker on Turbine Side. Example: Using IP Desktop Handset on other side, scratching on the handset may be enough to distort or mute Turbine side.

AE-185 Turbine can start listen to multicast from "wrong" AlphaCom if multiple AlphaComs on the same subnet

Station must verify the AlphaCom mac address in the DIP broadcast messages.

AE-184 Turbine play conferece audio when default speaker in a multicast SX conference. (Own audio playback)

When talking into a simplex Conference using M-Key, the Turbine speaker should be muted.

AE-183 Volume override for program does not remember state after conversation interuption

Turbine station with volume set to -14. 1.Setting up a program with volume override. (Speaker goes to max volume) 2.Setting up a conversation to the station, conversation volume goes to -14. 3.Disconnect the conversation, the station does not return to program with full volume.

AE-179 The call bell button doesn't light when receiving a call in TCIS-5

When the Turbine station TCIS-5 receives a call, the call bell button does not light

AE-157 All Stations in a Pulse system reboots in without warning when pressing apply button in Directory settings

When making changes under Server management -> Server configuration -> Directory settings and pressing "Apply" after save, all stations reboots without any warning. In 3.0.3.4 pressing "Apply" will show a warning where it is specified that the stations will reboot.

Known Issues

MTN-382 G.722 codec produces digital 0's as output

The Permanent Audio Stream as used for an analytics project produces digital 0's at random time intervals. This may affect the analytics algorithms, which we currently have an issue with in Mexico. Attached is a sound clip and a picture of a graph. There appears to be a DC offset

MTN-374 Rare case of distorted audio at loudspeaker

Rare case of distorted audio played out to Turbine speaker. Difficult to reproduce, but seems to in some environment be more likely to occur. Seems to be related to network config eth0 down/up.

Turbine 3.0.3.3 (2012-12-21)

Errors Corrected

AE-177 Board To Board connectors and IO Terminals make vibration sound that are picked up by microphone

The vibrations give non-linear feedback of the speaker signal back to the mic signal. This feedback will be unknown to the AEC algorithm, and will make AEC fail in Full Open Duplex mode. The best solution is to modify stations connectors. Alternatively AEC modes "Robust Duplex" or "Half Duplex Switching" could be used.

AE-171 Production Mac address programming - Boards Programmed with Same MAC Address

During programming Hapro detected some boards getting same mac addresses.

AE-167 Change of input status while station is "off-line" is not reported when the communication is restored

Input status is not reported on registration time, and we risk being unsynchronized with the AlphaCom.

AE-165 Random effects (instability) howling, echo, buzz and artifacts

There are some random howlings, echoes, buzz and other strange audio artifacts when speaking through Turbine (on both sides). Sometimes you speak for 1 minute OK. Some other times you hear strange noises, cancel, try again and goes OK (or not). It depends very much on distances you speak from, where you place the station (on the table in our meeting room), background noise, volume in station, loudspeaking/softspeaking in A side desktop. It all gives a general feeling of unstability of the audio processor adjustment, which ‘generates’ these random interferences (as if it wasn’t 100% tuned yet).

AE-164 Audio quality - microphone signal

Mic sensitivity in Turbine is much lower than 1008041100 (same voice from same distance) / less high frequencies range / there is always a slight C3PO effect (even with no noise reduction at all). In general, the feeling at B side is a less ‘natural’ sound (and clearly lower) when listening a Turbine.

AE-163 Dip message "updrn" missing in Turbine

The "updrn" message is used from AlphaSys 11.3.x.x to synchronize requested directory number if for example AlphaPro has changed the directory number of a IP station. (If not "updrn" supported it will be registration problems without changing the requested dirno also in the station web.)

AE-156 Feedback and echo when calling other Turbine station in Open Duplex mode

In Open duplex mode when a call is made from one TCIS6 to another and the call is answered we get a lot of feedback as if the stations are next to each other.

AE-152 Turbine station indicates "in conversation" when connecting to 3rd party Gateway

When ringing to external line through gateway, Turbine station indicates "in conversations" when connected to gateway but not in conversation.

AE-150 Slow fading-in of own microphone audio when using M-key in SX conference

Adding the turbine station to an SX-conference. Using "DAK as RCI" (%chg($M L%1.dir,$MREL L%1.dir)) for M-key signaling from the single button.

It takes approx. 1,5 seconds from the key is pressed to the audio from the Turbine mic is feed into the conference. When using the same programming on an INCA IP-station the audio is feed almost instantly.

AE-149 NAND flash may fail to load correctly

The Turbine station hangs/freezes when reboot is initiated, and at the same time a power outages that last a few seconds under this process.

AE-122 Some PoE switches may be overloaded when playing alarm message with volume override (105 dB)

Starting playback of message 8191 (761 + group + 8191) makes the station reset. Playback of message 8192 is OK.

8191 has a different sound (duuut) in the start, with more energy than the gong in 8192, causing the PoE output of the switch Netgear Prodafe 16 to shut down.

AE-118 Turbine: TCIS-6: Station locks up when scrolloing, then resets

When scrolling, the display locks up and is frozen on e.g. "IP Desktop 2". The station can still be called, but after a while it makes a reset.

AE-104 tftp upgrade fails on lab network (switch with long network access time > 30 sec)

On some networks it take some time before network access is allowed after a reboot. Observations on one network is exactly 30 seconds.

AE-75 Turbine Station crash after image upgrade

During an image upgrade there have been cases of the NAND Flash being corrupted, and the station will not boot again.

Known Issues

AE-186 Turbine AEC sensible to noise on far-end signal

Noise on signal from other side in conversation affects local talker on Turbine Side. Example: Using IP Desktop Handset on other side, scratching on the handset may be enough to distort or mute Turbine side.

AE-185 Turbine can start listen to multicast from "wrong" AlphaCom if multiple AlphaComs on the same subnet

Station must verify the AlphaCom mac address in the DIP broadcast messages.

AE-184 Turbine play conferece audio when default speaker in a multicast SX conference. (Own audio playback)

AE-181 Turbine mute Microphone calling from IP dect (G711)

When initiating a call from IP Dect (G711) to Turbine station, the first call is working. After hanging up on an IP Dect phone and making a second or several calls microphone is muted on Turbine side. Looks like Audiostream application doesn't respond. But if you hang up from or cancel the call on Turbine the Mic is working fine in second call.

When initiating call from Turbine (Most likely scenario) to Ip Dect the Microphone is working after several calls. The problem only appears when calling FROM IP Dect.

AE-157 All Stations in a Pulse system reboots in without warning when pressing apply button in Directory settings

When making changes under Server management -> Server configuration -> Directory settings and pressing "Apply" after save, all stations reboots without any warning! Suggestion for improvement is to name that button reboot. At least give an heads up to the user that all stations in the system doing a reboot.

Known Issues

AE-154 3rd party (snom) can make "ghost calls" to Turbine

When calling to Turbine using a snom VoIP telephone and quickly cancelling the call from the snom, the call will sometimes not be cancelled on Turbine. A workaround is to configure RTP timeout above zero. The call will then be cancelled automatically by Turbine.

AE-151 Using the "wrong" save button for a table in the Group Call page will delete changes in other tables

When configuring group calls click the save button associated with the edited table before configuring the next table.

AE-150 Slow fading-in of own microphone audio when using M-key in simplex conference

It takes approx. 1,5 seconds from the key is pressed to the audio from the Turbine mic is fed into the conference.

AE-147 Image upgrade via TFTP remote provisioning fails

Workaround is to use manual upgrade.

AE-142 Pulse server software upgrade doesn't work

Workaround is to use manual upgrade.

AE-140 Turbine must not be downgraded below version 3.0.3.1

If a station is upgraded to 3.0.3.1 it should never be downgraded to an older version.

AE-137 Station reboots when saving in System settings from Pulse Server

Workaround is to go to the station webpage and configure NTP settings on each station.

AE-122 Some PoE switches may be overloaded when playing alarm message with volume override (105 dB)

This is not expected to occur on version 3.0.3.1 but can not be guaranteed. If it occurs, the only known workaround is to use a switch of higher quality.

AE-114 Sound Pressure Level for open duplex is below 95 dB

AE-96 Incorrect labeling on the label on the Turbine station

Turbine stations manufactured before week 36, 2012 have indication for NO and NC (relay) switched.

AE-72 TFTP upgrade may fail if using wireless or slow networks

Workaround is to use a wired network.
