Introduction

Zenitel Connect Pro (ZCP) can be linked to an ICX-AlphaCom system via a trunk.

There are two ways to call from ZCP to ICX-AlphaCom:

  • Prefix: Dial the Prefix + the intercom extension in ICX-AlphaCom
  • Integrated number plan: Simply dial the intercom extension without any prefix

Zenitel Connect Pro configuration

Adding the Trunk and defining the Prefix

Go to Devices and Connections > External Communication, select Trunk Type ICX-AlphaCom and click the ZC PlusIcon.PNG to add a new trunk.

  • Prefix: The digit(s) to dial to access the trunk
  • Name: Any descriptive text
  • Peer Address: The IP address of the ICX-AlphaCom
  • Call Service: Call Service for an incoming call.
  • Status: Reachable or Unreachable. Tells if the connection is up or down.

Example: Dial prefix "0" + intercom number to access the remote station

Integrated Number Plan

It is possible to define outgoing number ranges. Numbers in these ranges can be dialed directly, without the need to dial a prefix. This gives a possibility to make a integrated numbering plan for all ICX-AlphaCom servers in a linked network.

To define the outgoing numbers, select a defined trunk and click on ZC NumberlistIcon.PNG on the left.

In the Outgoing Numbers Range pane, click on ZC PlusIcon.PNG to define a new range and enter the From and To directory numbers.

Here the numbers 101-109 and 3401-3499 will be routed to the ICX-AlphaCom trunk

  • It is possible to add multiple ranges for each ICX-AlphaCom trunk connection.
  • A range consisting of a single number must have that same number entered both in the To and From column.
  • The To and From directory numbers must have the same number of digits.

ICX-AlphaCom configuration

Defining the SIP Trunk

For the ICX-AlphaCom (and AlphaCom XE and AlphaCom E systems) the link is setup as a normal SIP-trunk, see SIP trunk configuration. The preferred codec for this link is G.722.

Door Opening from an Operator station in the ICX-AlphaCom

When an operator station receives a call from a SIP trunk, the default behavior is that digits dialed on the operator station will be handled locally in the ICX-AlphaCom, and not transmitted out on the SIP trunk.

To be able to send DTMF signals to the Zenitel Connect Pro over the SIP trunk, one have to set the operator station in a certain mode by the data command $TRUNK_SIG.

There are two options to set this mode:

  • Manually by pressing a DAK key during the call, or
  • Automatically when a call is received from the SIP trunk

In AlphaPro, Exchange & System -> Events, insert an event with the following parameters:

Option 1: Manually by pressing a DAK key:

Enable DTMF transmission by first pressing DAK key 3

Option 2: Automatically when receiving a call from the SIP trunk:

Enable DTMF transmission when receiving calls from SIP Trunk node 100

Action commands:

IF %op(%2.nod,=,100)
$TRUNK_SIG L%1.dir
ENDIF

In this example the SIP Trunk node is 100, you need to change this according to the node number used.

Note that the data command $TRUNK_SIG requires AMC software 11.5.x.x or newer.

Call Queuing between the systems

In ICX-AlphaCom the Ringing Group feature is typically used by Door Intercoms and Help Points for Call Queuing. To include an Operator station in the ZCP in a Ringing Group in ICX-AlphaCom:

Send All + Reset (to make the SIP User register).
