AMC-IP Processor Board (Black)

This article describes how to upgrade the software on a black AMC-IP board (hardware revision 5 or later).

This is the currently produced AMC-IP board. It replaced the red AMC-IP board (hardware revision 4) in 2010.

The software 11.5.3.2B is supported only on the black AMC IP boards. The red AMC-IP board is not supported.

Backup customer data

Configuration data might get lost after the upgrade.

The customer data MUST be backed up by doing a GetAll operation from AlphaPro before the upgrade is performed.

Software Upgrade

The software upgrade is done in two steps:

  • Installing the Board Support Package bsp_31.00.3.2B.apkg
  • Upgrading to AMC-IP software version 11.5.3.2B

Installing the Board Support Package bsp_31.00.3.2B.apkg

Download the file bsp_31.00.3.2B.apkg. This file contains the AMC-IP software version 11.5.3.1B, as well as updated Linux kernel version and security updates.

  • Use an internet browser and log on to the AlphaCom Web interface (AlphaWeb) and select System Maintenance -> System Upgrade.
  • Browse to the downloaded bsp file, and select Upload. The file will now be transferred from the PC to the AMC-IP board.
Browse and Upload the board support package file bsp_31.00.3.2B.apkg

  • When the upload is finished an Install button will appear. Press the Install button, the upgrade status is shown in the web browser.
  • When the software installation is finished the system will restart with the new software.

Restore customer data

Restore the customer data by doing a SendAll operation from AlphaPro. Reset the exchange when the SendAll is finished.

Important information for users of version 11.3.3.x

Version 11.5 is a further development of functionality in 11.2. This means that not all functions available in 11.3 are also available in 11.5. Note that the missing functions are very customer project specific and that most of the installations using 11.3.3.x are not impacted by this at all. However, if you have an installation which relies on these functions, and it is operating as required, you are advised not to upgrade to 11.5.3.1B. The functions which are not supported in 11.5.3.1B are:

  • Turn off Audio Message triggered by the data command $SVP_ST.
  • SIP Reply with RINGING when AlphaCom station is ringing. 11.3 X version support ringing both on SIP trunk and SIP station.
  • Dynamic Group Call
  • IP-HA State data sync
  • Block Reset
  • AlphaWeb station discovery
  • Station Tone Test with volume increase
  • Priority direct paging similar to feature 93
  • SIP trunking: SIP support for "Delayed Offer". I.e. receiving INVITE without SDP information.
