This article describes the basic setup of the UTStarcom F1000G WiFi telephone from [http://www.utstar.com/Solutions/Handsets/WiFi/ UTStarcom].

In the following example the handset is configured with number 9555, and set to registrer to the  AlphaCom at IP address 192.168.2.100, mask 255.255.255.0. The wireless router has default IP address 192.168.2.1 and the  handset will get 192.168.2.x (DHCP).

The SIP phone must be defined as a [[SIP phone as station|SIP User]] in the '''Users & Stations''' menu in AlphaPro. The SIP phone require a [[Licenses#SIP_station_license|license for SIP stations]].
The router has default IP address 192.168.2.1 and the handset will get 192.168.2.x (DHCP). The handset is configured with number 9559, and set to registrer to the  AlphaCom at IP address 192.168.2.100, mask 255.255.255.0.  
 
  
To make it work you need to do the following steps:

This is the caller ID seen in the AlphaCom display station when the SIP phone calls the AlphaCom.

To search for the WiFi net from the telephone, select Menu -> WiFi-Settings -> Net Search. Now the SSID of your WiFi net should  appear. Select your SSID and "Save" twice. Then "Security Mode" is displayed, select OK, then "Open AP" = OK.  Finally "Activate" = OK.
AlphaPro:
 
- Enter the IP address 192.168.2.100 at ethernet port 1.
 
- Create a SIP registrar node linked to ethernet port 1, and link it to AlphaCom in NetRouting window
 
- In the Directory and features list create a directory number 9559, feature 83/<SIP node>, and appropriate display  text (e.g. "Donzelli")

I did no configuration of the router at all, default settings are used (The WiFi is open, there is no encryption).
 
The SSID of the router is: "belkin54g"
 
 
 
 
 
On the phone I did the following settings:
 
Menu -> WiFi-Settings - > Signal Protocol -> SIP:

I've noticed that if the router is switched off and on, the phone do not connect to the WiFi network afterwards.  You have to switch off and on the phone. I don't know why, maybe a bug in the phone, but for demo's I believe it is ok. I though you should  know, might save you some trouble...

Configuration example - AlphaCom E and UTStarcom F1000G

This article describes the basic setup of the UTStarcom F1000G WiFi telephone from UTStarcom.

In the following example the handset is configured with number 9555, and set to registrer to the AlphaCom at IP address 192.168.2.100, mask 255.255.255.0. The wireless router has default IP address 192.168.2.1 and the handset will get 192.168.2.x (DHCP).

Configuration of AlphaCom

The SIP phone must be defined as a SIP User in the Users & Stations menu in AlphaPro. The SIP phone require a license for SIP stations.
