From Zenitel Wiki

Reset Options

Introduction

This article describes the available reboot and reset options in Zenitel Connect and explains their impact on configuration data, licenses, network settings, and application software.

Note icon Before performing a factory reset, it is recommended to create a backup of the system configuration. Refer to Backup and Recovery for instructions.

Reboot system

A reboot has the same effect as removing and restoring power to the server. Any active calls will be disconnected, and the system will be unavailable for approximately two minutes.

To reboot the system, navigate to System > Backup and Recovery, and select Reboot system.

Factory Reset options

Zenitel Connect supports the following reset methods:

  • Factory Reset (All)
  • Factory Reset (Keep IP Settings)
  • Hardware Factory Reset using the ICX-510 reset button

The web-based reset options are available from System > Backup and Recovery.

Factory reset (All)

This option restores Zenitel Connect to its initial state. The following data is removed:

  • System configuration
  • Database contents
  • Event logs
  • Licenses
  • Locally stored backup files

After the reset, the system is restored to the same state as:

  • A newly delivered ICX-510 unit, or
  • A newly imported Zenitel Connect virtual machine image

Factory reset (Keep IP settings)

This option performs the same reset as Factory Reset (All), but retains the following network-related settings:

  • Network configuration
  • Firewall configuration
  • Subnets configured in the Device Configuration tile

This option can be useful when resetting the system while maintaining network connectivity and remote access.

Hardware Factory Reset (ICX-510)

The ICX-510 includes a hardware reset button located behind a small opening on the rear panel.

  • Remove all licenses
  • Delete locally stored backup files
  • Reset all network settings and firewall settings to default values
  • Remove all application containers, including the installed Zenitel Connect software

After the reset:

  • Eth0 is configured with IP address 169.254.1.5
  • Subnet mask is 255.255.0.0
  • The unit starts in Recovery Mode and presents the Software Update page on port 82.

Performing a Hardware Factory Reset:

  1. Press and hold the Factory Default button
  2. Apply power to the ICX-510 while keeping the button pressed.
  3. Continue holding the button for approximately 5 seconds.
  4. Release the button.
  5. Connect a computer to the Eth0 network interface.
