Answer Timeout
The timeout is set in seconds. The default value is 30 seconds. The timer can also be disabled.
The Answer Timeout affects the following call types:
- Direct calls in Private Ringing mode: The call is terminated if it is not answered within the configured timeout.
- “Camp on busy” calls: The call is placed in a queue and is terminated if the called party does not become available before the timeout expires.
- Conflicting Broadcast calls: When a broadcast cannot be established due to another active call, it is queued and the caller hears a busy tone. The call is terminated if the conflict is not cleared before the timeout expires.
- Call Forwarding on No Reply: The call is forwarded if it is not answered within the configured timeout period.
Forward Delay
Forward Delay is a timeout for call ringing before Call Forwarding unconditional or Call Forwarding On Busy takes place.
Require PTT Timeout
This timer applies to live broadcast announcements when the Require PTT option is enabled.
When Require PTT is enabled, the operator must press and hold a PTT (Push-to-Talk) button, such as a dedicated PTT button, an M-key, or the * key, to activate the microphone and make an announcement.
After the PTT button is released, the broadcast remains active for the duration specified by this timer. This allows the operator to briefly release and re-press the PTT button to continue the announcement without having to initiate a new broadcast session.
A longer timeout provides greater flexibility during announcements, while a shorter timeout causes the broadcast session to end more quickly after the PTT button is released.
