Overlapping group call

When listening on to a group call and a new group call is made, a tone is heard in the intercom and within the display message will give details about the other group call.

Basically the overlapping group call function will be built on standard missing member’s group call mechanism, due to the high demands for speed and the large number of groups. The function must be set up and programmed for the complete exchange structure.

Only those stations already listening to another group call and being a member of the new group call, will receive the display message and a call tone. Other stations in the group will not notice any difference from a normal group call.

The group call tone will not be faded in, meaning it will be a "click" noise in the beginning and end of the tone.

Display message will be written to the display and it will remain in the display until the group call is finished or another event like receiving a normal call or making a normal call.

The user can cancel any on-going group call and connect to the next active group call the stations is a member of. It is possible to return to your original group call by stepping through the list. The group call you enter will be displayed for a short time after the feature code is dialed. This function also work if no group calls in conversation flag is used. It is possible to inhibit a group call and then reconnect to the same group call.

No Group call in Conversation

When a user is in one to one call, and a group call is made, a tone will be heard and a display message appear. Users will now have the possibility to cancel the call and listen to the group call. This function is related to overlapping group call and it will behave the same way as described for overlapping group call.

Settings And AlphaPro

To enable overlapping group call you must set max. missing members field >0 in AlphaPro.

Use feature 96 directory number 9536 “Next GrCall” to find next active group call the station is member of.

To enable the feature 9536 “Next GrCall” dial: 7873 “Toggl.feat” and 9536 from the super user/system station.

To enable the feature 7884 “Inhibit Gpcall” dial: 7873 “Toggl.feat” and 7884 from the super user/system station.

No group call in conversation must be activated from TST consol:

set nvram ex_profile.flags.no_grcall_in_conv = 1

Global groups use missing members setting from the related local group call.

(The individual setting for missing members for global group calls is bypassed because no support for change setting in AlphaPro )

Restrictions

The system does not check if stations are a CRM3/4 station. Notify display text will be shown in line 2. The CRM3/4 station need a mail message to clear the notify message?

Max missing members possible to set from AlphaPro is 200. But AlphaPro doesn’t send values over 79. Only use missing members<=79.

Missing members are only stations that are reported ok, unused linecards and broken stations are not counted as a missing member.
