The A100C08506 Front Board

The TA-15+ Repair Kit (Item No. 1018688) is intended for replacement of defective front boards in TCIS, TCIS+ and TCIV+ Turbine Compact stations.

Kit contents:

  • 5 x A100C08506 Front Board MKII
  • 10 x Microphone Blocks
  • 5 x Connectors

The TA-15+ Repair Kit replaces the following repair kits:

  • 1008140150: TA-15, including TCIS front board A100C08129
  • 1008390001: TCIV+ repair kit, including front board A100C08803

Compatibility

The new front board A100C08506 is backwards compatible with the previous hardware versions:

  • TCIS front board A100C08129
  • TCIV+ front board A100C08803


Replacement procedure

Replacement in a TCIV+ and TCIS+ station

After the replacement of the front board, no further action is required.

Replacement in a TCIS station

Identify the version of the faulty printed circuit board (PCB). The version is printed on the PCB it self:

New PCB A100C08506
Old PCB A100C08129

If the faulty board was A100C08506, the board can be replaced and no further action is required.

If the faulty board was the old hardware version A100C08129, the "product identity" (Device Tree) of the station needs to be updated. If failing to do so, the button(s) and LEDs will not work.

Upgrading the "Device Tree":
Log on to the Turbine Station web interface. Select Station Administration > Manual Upgrade. Follow the procedure Turbine Software Upgrade by using an external TFTP server, however in the "Image file" field enter "compact-v2/<firmware version>", e.g. compact-v2/vsft-9.5.3.0.

Upgrading the "Device Tree" of a TCIS station using TFTP Server

The Device Tree can only be upgraded using the TFTP method described above. Other methods, such as using the IMT tool, are not supported.

The Device Tree "compact-v2" is supported as from firmware version VSFT-7.0.3.0.


About the "Device Tree"

The Device Tree defines the device family to which a station belongs, such as Turbine Compact, Turbine Mini, Industrial Station, or other supported product lines. It provides a unique identification mechanism for each device type and serves as the foundation for how devices are represented throughout the system. The Device Tree is used both for presenting devices correctly in user interfaces and for associating device-specific capabilities, properties, and configuration options with the appropriate hardware family.
