Credential management, authentication and authorization

  • Does Zenitel Connect support different user groups with different access rights?
    • Zenitel Connect supports different user groups which have different access rights; User management
  • Is it possible to define a password template, in order to enforce a minimum password strength?
    • Setting a password template is not supported in Zenitel Connect
  • Does Zenitel Connect support audio encryption?
    • Zenitel Connect does currently not support audio encryption
  • Does Zenitel Connect support encryption on the data protocols?
    • Zenitel Connect supports HTTPS, SIPS and WSS
  • There is only 1 admin user in my system, and I have forgotten the password, is it possible to recover it?
    • The best advice is to always have a backup of the configuration database and store it in a safe location; Backup and Restore

  • Do devices need to authenticate to connect to Zenitel Connect
    • All Zenitel devices and all integrations need to authenticate to be able to connect to Zenitel Connect; 3rd party telephones?
  • Does Zenitel Connect support a whitelist of allowed IP-addresses?
    • The firewall allows whitelisting of specific subnets and/or IP-addresses
  • Does Zenitel Connect support a blacklist of blocked IP-addresses?
    • The firewall blocks all incoming connection unless specifically enabled
  • Can Zenitel Connect temporarily add IP-addresses to the blacklist automatically?
    • This is not a supported feature

Roles and permissions

  • Is it possible to allow or block devices accessing specific services?
    • Devices must have permission to access a feature or function

Software maintenance

  • How can I identify the correct software package for either an ICX-510 or a Virtual Machine
    • There is only a single .swu package, which an be uploaded as part of the software upgrade procedure
  • Are security updates part of the software maintenance contract?
    • The software upgrade package includes both functional and security upgrades, Software update
  • What are the benefits of a software maintenance contract?
    • After the initial software warranty period it is only possible to update and upgrade Zenitel Connect software with a maintenance contract in place; the system may not be protected against cyber security threats without regular software updates
  • Can I upgrade my software without a software maintenance contract in place?
    • After the initial software warranty period it is only possible to upgrade Zenitel Connect software with a maintenance contract in place
  • How long will Zenitel support my devices?
    • The software on the devices will be supported for at least 5 years after initial purchase
    • The same hardware version may not be available after a while, but a new hardware device closely matching the old device will be available

Security integration - Access control

  • Is there a list of Access Control Systems to which a tested integration exists?
    • LenelS2 Onguard
    • Zenitel Connect has an open api which allows easy integration with access control systems

Security integration - VMS integration

  • Is there a list of Video Management Systems to which a tested integration exists?
    • Milestone XProtect
    • Zenitel Connect has an open api which allows easy integration with video management systems
    • Zenitel devices can directly be integrated with ONVIF conformant video management systems

IT integration

  • Does Zenitel Connect support SNMP v1, v2 and v3?
    • Zenitel Connect does not support SNMP yet

  • I want to add a station to my system, how should I do that?
    • There are several ways in which a station can be added to Zenitel Connect; the best method depends on the situation, for instance whether the device is already physically installed: Device configuration

Call functions

Calling

  • Does Zenitel Connect support video calls, and if so, how many simultaneously?
    • Zenitel Connect supports 50 simultaneous video calls (to be verified!!!)

Call queueing

  • During critical situations I can expect many simultaneous calls; Will these calls be queued such that no calls are lost?
    • Zenitel Connect supports call queues; multiple operators can be assigned to each call queue and operators can be assigned to multiple call queues; Call queues
  • Does Zenitel Connect support different priority levels in the call queue?
    • Each call queue has a priority level; operators who handle multiple call queues will see the call from the queue with the highest priority at the top of the list; Call queues

x64 hardware and Virtual Machines

  • When do you recommend to use x64 based hardware instead of the ICX-510?
    • Customers with their own data centre and customers who need many devices could be better off with a Virtual Machine implementation running on an x64 processor; for other customers an ICX-510 will be a better choice
  • Does Zenitel Connect run in a Virtual Machine?
    • Zenitel Connect is available as image to run on a Virtual Machine
  • Which virtualization software can be used?
    • Virtual Machine images are available for both VMWare and VirtualBox
  • Do I need a license to run Zenitel Connect software on an x64 machine, or inside a VM?
