The Voice Guided Call feature

The Voice Guided Call (IVR) feature provides voice guided menus for handling incoming calls from external phones via SIP Trunk or the IP Telephony Service:

  • On an incoming telephone call, play a welcome message with menu options.
  • The caller can press a digit on their phone keypad to route the call according to the voice menu.
  • If no digits are pressed within the timeout period of 10 seconds, the call will be disconnected.

The Voice Guided Call feature is also available for internal calls, it is not restricted to external calls only.

Configuration

The default Directory Number for this feature is 8900. The number can be modified if required, and new Voice Guided Call numbers can be added (max. 20) by pressing the ZC PlusIcon.PNG icon in the screenshot below. Recommended directory numbers are from 8900 to 8949.

The incoming phone call must be routed to the Voice Guided Call number.

Navigate to Features > Directory Services, and select the Voice Guided Call feature.

  2. Enter a digit (e.g. 4)
  3. Choose the target directory number (e.g. 123 - Bridge)
  4. Repeat 1 - 3 for the next digit(s)

Two-stage dialing
