ZIPS - Restore Factory Defaults

This procedure is applicable to the ZIPS IP speaker range and the ZIPS-kit (ZIPS-K and ZIPS-KOE).

The device can be set to either receive an IP address from DHCP or set to a Static IP.

Software reset

Factory default settings can be restored from the web interface.

Hardware reset

Preparation

1. Connect a push button between GND and GPIO 1.
2. If ZIPS-kit, connect an 8 ohms loudspeaker to the Internal Loudspeaker output.

Reset to Factory Default Settings with Activated DHCP

1. While pressing the button, power up the device by connecting to a PoE switch
2. Hold the button until the device starts counting, and release the button on count 1
3. Press and hold the button on count 5 and release on count 0

• If there is no 0 count, the procedure has failed and you have to start again
• Press the button, and the device will speak its IP address

Factory default values

Device IP address: Determined by DHCP server. If no DHCP server is available, it gets a random 169.254.x.x address.

Default credentials:

• Username: admin
• Password: alphaadmin

Reset to Factory Default Settings with Static IP

1. While pressing the button, power up the device by connecting to a PoE switch
2. Hold the button until the device starts counting, and release the button on count 1
3. Press and hold the button on count 3 and release on count 0

• If there is no 0 count, the procedure has failed and you have to start again
• Press the call button, and the device will speak its IP address

Factory default values

• Device IP address: 169.254.1.100

Default credentials:

• Username: admin
• Password: alphaadmin
