ZIPS-kit

This article provides information on the ZIPS kits. Two variants are available, both based on the same printed circuit board (PCB). The only difference between them is the enclosure:
- ZIPS-K (Item 1016324) – Indoor IP Speaker Kit
- ZIPS-KOE (Item 1016325) – Outdoor IP Speaker Kit (IP66)

The device can operate in different modes. Set the mode according to the server the station should register to.

Mounting considerations
The ZIPS-K and ZIPS-KOE are intended for integration into a suitable enclosure, panel or emergency point assembly.
The speaker kits shall be mounted on a flat, stable and vibration-resistant surface.
Speaker openings, microphone openings, status indicators and service interfaces shall not be blocked by the enclosure, gaskets, adhesives, membranes or cables.
When both speaker and microphone are used, provide sufficient acoustic separation between them. Avoid mounting the microphone directly in front of, behind or in the same open cavity as the speaker. Poor acoustic separation may cause echo, feedback or reduced speech intelligibility.
Route microphone cables away from speaker cables, relay wiring and other noise generating cables. Use shielded cable where required by the installation environment
Outdoor mounting considerations
The IP66 rating is only valid when ZIPS-KOE is installed according to the Mounting and Installation Manual, using the specified gaskets, cable glands, and seals.
