Zenitel Connect Essential

Zenitel Connect Essential is a license-free edition of Zenitel Connect intended for small installations. It provides the core functionality of Zenitel Connect without requiring any purchased licenses.
Limitations
Zenitel Connect Essential is limited to:
- Up to 16 devices
- One telephony connection (SIP-trunk or IP-Telephony).
- One Zenitel Link user
- No support for PAVA integration
- No support for Zenitel Connect Net
Like Zenitel Connect Pro, Zenitel Connect Essential can be deployed on an ICX-510 or on a virtual machine (VM).
Free license period
All new Zenitel Connect installations start with a 60-day free license period. During this period, all features can be configured and tested without restrictions.
When the free license period expires, Zenitel Connect automatically evaluates the system configuration:
- If the configuration is within the limits of Zenitel Connect Essential, the system automatically continues operating in Essential mode.
- If the configuration exceeds the Essential limitations, a valid Zenitel Connect license must be installed before the trial period expires.

If the free license period expires while the system configuration exceeds the limits of Zenitel Connect Essential, all devices will go offline and system operation will stop until valid licenses are installed. The system configuration is retained and normal operation resumes once the required licenses are added. |
Enabling Zenitel Connect Essential
If the planned installation falls within the Essential limitations, Essential mode can be enabled immediately during commissioning rather than waiting for the free license period to expire.
To enable Essential mode navigate to System > Licenses, and click on Enable Zenitel Essential.

If the current configuration exceeds any Essential limitation, the option cannot be enabled. The user interface will display the reason, for example when the number of configured devices exceeds the maximum supported limit.

Automatic Conversion to Essential Mode
If Zenitel Connect is still operating under the free license period and the system configuration remains within the Essential limitations when the trial expires, the system automatically switches to Essential mode. No manual action is required.
Upgrade to Zenitel Connect Pro
A Zenitel Connect Essential installation can be upgraded to Zenitel Connect Pro at any time by installing the required licenses.
No reconfiguration of the system is required when upgrading.
