ZDD-1

This article describes how to configure the Zenitel Display Door intercom (ZDD-1) when used in an ICX-AlphaCom system. The ZDD-1 must be configured in SIP mode, and a SIP account must be created in the ICX-AlphaCom.

License requirement

When using the Zenitel Display Door intercom (ZDD-1) in an ICX-AlphaCom system a SIP Station license ILS-SIP is required for the ZDD-1.

Configuration

Create a SIP Account in ICX-AlphaCom

Configuration of the ZDD-1

  1. Log on to the device
  2. Main Settings: Go to Main > Main Settings and set "Mode" = SIP. Enter the IP Settings for the device.
  3. Account Settings: Select SIP Configuration > Account/Call and enter as a minimum Display Name, Directory Number, Server Domain and Authentication User Name.
  4. GUI and Display configuration

Door Opening Feature

During a call between ZDD-1 and a master station, the master station operator can activate the Door Opening feature in the ICX-AlphaCom by pressing digit 6.

The Door Opening feature is programmed in the Event Handler. An event must be created to send the DTMF digit "6" via the SIP protocol to the ZDD-1.

In AlphaPro, open Users & Stations, select the ZDD-1 and press Events. In the Events window press Insert and create the following event:

Door Opening event for ZDD-1

Action commands:

$D2S L%1.dir 6 1
pause
$D2S L%1.dir 6 0

Play Audio Message

The ZDD-1 can be configured to play an audio message in the loudspeaker when the door opening function is activated, e.g. "The door is open, please enter".

In the web interface of the ZDD-1, got to SIP Configuration > Messages, and upload a .wav file. Sample wav files are available in the Downloads section of ZenitelWiki.

Enter parameters as follows:

ZDD-1 DoorOpen message.JPG
Play the audiop file "DoorOpenEnter.wav" when the door opening is activated

Additional info

Note icon When the ZDD-1 is used with an ICX-AlphaCom system two-way video is not supported. In this case only one-way video is supported; that is from ZDD-1 to the video enabled device (Such as ITSV-5). Video in the other direction is not supported.
