Important information regarding AMC 11 and STIC

In order to get the correct MAC address from the STIC, the software on the AMC-IP must be updated to the latest 11.1.3.n release. This software is available on Partnernet and on the AlphaWiki download page. Without this software update, the MAC address will be not be reported correctly. When the software is updated, and no licenses are present, the system may report that the free license period is 15 (or less) minutes. In order to get back the default free license period, the card must be cold started.

AlphaCom E

AC E7 Networking.jpg
The AlphaCom E combines the best of the present advanced AlphaCom system with the latest IP, Linux and embedded networking technologies. When entering the IP world, no compromise has been made. The AlphaCom E provides the complete set of existing services, quality, reliability and security characteristics for which AlphaCom has always been recognized.

Some of the special features it brings into the IP domain are wideband (7 kHz) audio, a built-in firewall, integrated Web and SIP server, and low latency switching.

Several exchanges can be interconnected on AlphaNet over IP, as well as traditional methods, both locally and worldwide. All communication and services are available throughout the entire network.

The AlphaCom E Exchanges includes extended integration of different kinds of communication and alarm systems, access control, CCTV, public address, public telephones and a variety of features and solutions that can be added when desired. It is easy to interface to 3rd party systems to create special applications.

The new technology allows remote programming, logging and maintenance via AlphaPro, Syslog and standard web browsers.

What's new

SOFTWARE

The latest software versions are available on the download page

IP Station version 01.10.3.4. This software runs on both IP substations and IP master stations. Main new features (since 01.09.3.3):

  • Added possibility to adjust mic sensitivity from the web interface.
  • Added possibility to register to an alphacom using directory number instead of MAC address. The directory number can be defined both from the web interface and local menu (Stations with display).
  • The Off-line password is now configurable from the IP station web interface.
  • The handset volume can now be configured different from the speaker volume. Configuration of handset volume is done by configuring the volume while the handset is lifted.
  • It is now possible to upgrade with VLAN. If "IP-station upgrade with VLAN" is set to yes and VLAN is enabled, the IP-station will send tagged packets during upgrade.
  • For a complete list of bug fixes and functional changes and enhancements, see IP Station release notes

AlphaPro

AlphaPro Users and Stations.jpg
AlphaPro is the programming tool for the AlphaCom exchange. AlphaPro gives the facility to program the features of the exchange off-line, and at a later stage download this programming into the exchange. AlphaPro does not extend the features of the exchange, it fills in the appropriate tables.

AlphaPro gives the facility to program the features of the exchange off-line, and at a later stage upload this programming into the exchange. AlphaPro is actually two software programs, one FoxPro database application (the big, central window) and one C-code communication program called WACS (the small window on top).

AlphaWeb

The AlphaWeb is an embedded web server running on the AlphaCom E exchange. It allows the users to log using a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Netscape to operate and manage the AlphaCom system.

Event Handler

Eventhandler.gif
The AlphaCom exchange is an intercom exchange of which the main task is to enable uni- and bi-directional speech. In order to be able to meet as many customer requirements as possible when it comes to special features an Event Handler has been implemented. The underlying idea is that by customer-programming this event handler functionality can be implemented which is not part of the standard feature list. The event handler is unique in the world of intercom. It is what gives the exchange its flexibility and makes it possible to meet most, if not all, customer requirements.

The Event Handler is based on the software concept that when the intercom functions run, they report 'events' to a part of the software called the Event Handler. The event can be described as a trigger that sets off an action in the system depending on the information entered in AlphaPro, the programming tool for the AlphaCom exchange. In this way, the Event Handler provides a powerful engineering tool for configuring system behaviour to meet requirements from customers.
