What is the IC-EDGE Controller?

One of the intercom stations in an Edge system must be set as the Edge Controller. The Edge Controller is acting as a server for the other intercom stations in the system. Any Turbine Intercom Station can be an Edge Controller. There can be only one Edge Controller in the installation.

The Edge Controller must have a static IP address (not dynamically assigned via DHCP).

It is recommended to not use a TCIV (Turbine station with camera) as Edge Controller server in a system with more than 5 registered clients. For such systems please use any other type Turbine, such as TCIS-x, or TKIS-2.

Will I need software licensing once my software grace period expires?

This will depend on what type of devices are connected, and what type of features are being used.

The following does not require a license, and will continue to operate after the 60-days grace period expires:

• Intercom devices (Stations, VoIP kits etc) - the first 32 devices do not require any license
• VS-Clients
• Integration to SIP Provider using the IP Telephony service
• Edge trunking - interconnection of multiple Edge systems

The following does require a license, and will seize to operate when the grace period expires if there is no license present:

• Additional intercom devices beyond the quantity of 32. Maximum 64 devices in total.
• 3rd Party SIP devices.
• Telephone gateways.
• Zenitel Mobile App.

I am having issues getting my ITSV-1 programmed and registered

ITSV-1 is not automatically recognized by the Edge Controller. The ITSV-1 must be manually added to the Edge Controller

I can’t get my call button on my TCIS/TCIV to call the ITSV-1?

By default call buttons aren't programmed on IP substations as the programming of DAK keys and Ringlist is done via Edge Controller

Does door opening on IP substations work by default? What digit do I use to activate door opening?

By default digit 6 will activate relay for door opening from ITSV-1 or from any IP master station during conversation. Relay will activate for 3 seconds

How do I find out my IP address on my TKIS-2?

By default when you receive a TKIS-2 the IP address will be DHCP. This can make it difficult to know the IP address assigned to the unit.
An easy way to find out the IP address is to connect a speaker to the speaker output (8 ohm or higher), and a momentary closure between ground and any of the 6 inputs/outputs on the unit.

What is the default username & password to access the web interface of my IP station?

All VS IP stations use the same default username and password to access the web server. You may use any web browser such as Firefox, Chrome or Microsoft Edge to access the web server.

• Station IP address: 169.254.1.100 (Default static IP address) or determined by DHCP server. If no DHCP server is available, it gets a random 169.254.x.x address.
• Username: admin
• Password: alphaadmin
• Mode of operation: Edge

How do I set my station to be the Edge Controller?

Any Turbine IP station can be set as the Edge Controller. There can only be one Edge Controller per system and it must be assigned a static IP address.

Does Zenitel Mobile App require a software license to work?

Yes, Zenitel Mobile App require a software license to work and the Edge Controller must have software version 5.1.3.0 or higher to function.

Each IC Edge System can have a maximum of 10 Zenitel Mobile App licenses.

Will Zenitel Mobile App work during software grace period?

Yes, all features that would require a software license will work during the software free license period which is 60 days. After the 60 day free license period expires then any feature that requires a software license will stop working until the necessary software license(s) is purchased.

How do I set static or DHCP IP address on IP substations?

First you will need to log into the IP substation.

Once you are logged into the station then you can modify the IP address to a new static or set station to obtain DHCP addressing. Note: Edge Controller must have static IP addressing.

How do I set static or DHCP IP address on IP master stations?

There are 2 ways you can set a static or DHCP IP address on IP master stations.

Using your pc's web browser

First you will need to log into the IP substation.

Once you are logged into the station then you can modify the IP address to a new static or set station to obtain DHCP addressing. Note: Edge Controller must have static IP addressing.

From the keyboard of your IP master station you press the button below the display related to setup, then enter 1851 and press ok. Then continue on with your programming as described in the following link.

How many VS IP stations can an IC-EDGE system have?

IC Edge system can have up to 64 VS (Vingtor-Stentofon) IP stations where the first 32 don't require any software license to operate. Software license is required for each VS IP station from station count of 33 up to 64.

How many Zenitel Mobile Apps can an IC-EDGE System have?

IC Edge system supports a maximum of 10 Zenitel Mobile Apps.

How many 3rd party SIP phones can an IC-EDGE System have?

IC Edge system supports a maximum of 10 3rd part SIP phone.

Can an existing Pulse System be upgraded to an IC-EDGE System?

Yes, it is possible to upgrade your existing Pulse System to an IC Edge System.

Is a software license required to integrate to Lenel OnGuard?

IC Edge system doesn't require a software license to integrate to Lenel OnGuard. However, Lenel requires a software license in order to integrate to IC Edge system. Please contact Lenel for software license details.

IC Edge system doesn't require a software license to integrate to RS2. However, RS2 requires a software license in order to integrate to IC Edge system. Please contact RS2 for software license details.

Is a software license required to integrate to Genetec Security Center?

IC Edge system doesn't require a software license to integrate to Genetec Security Center. However, Genetec requires a software license to integrate to IC Edge system. Please contact Genetec for software license details.

Is it possible to have remote relays to do door opening function?

For security reasons it is beneficial to have a remote relay contact related to a door station instead of using the relay on the door station itself.

For security reasons it might not be desired to use the relay of the door intercom itself, but instead control the relay of a remote relay unit located in a safe area.

Is it possible to have external contact closures to make intercom calls in IC-EDGE system?

Yes, this is possible by programming one or more of the 6 available I/O inputs on Turbine IP stations.

Can IP stations register to cloud based SIP call centers?

Yes, from software version 5.1.3.X it is possible for IP stations to call public telephone numbers via SIP Trunk Provider. SIP Trunk Provider must support G711u, G711a or G722 audio codecs as well as registration & support symmetric NAT handling.

Do stations set to IC-EDGE mode support IPv6?

No, VS stations in Edge mode only support IPv4 option.

Do VS stations have software support for active noise cancellation/reduction, AGC and AVC?

All VS station has software option for Active Noise Cancellation, AGC (Automatic Gain Control) and AVC (Automatic Volume Control).

How do you upgrade software of existing IP station in IC-EDGE mode to latest version?

Upgrade Turbine stations:

• Upgrade via the station web interface
• Upgrade using the IMT tool

Is it possible to use stations with older 4.x.x.x Turbine or INCA 2.x.x.x software in an IC-EDGE System?

Yes, this is possible but you must upgrade the stations to the latest IC Edge software version via VS-IMT tool or via TFTP server software.

What is the maximum size of a single IC-EDGE system?

Each IC Edge System can have a maximum of 94 stations where 64 of those stations can be VS stations, 10 VS-Clients, 10 Zenitel Mobile App & 10 3rd Party SIP phones.

Is it possible to connect multiple IC-EDGE systems together via IP to create a bigger IC-EDGE System?

Yes, it is possible to connect up to 51 IC Edge systems together via software programming.

Is it possible to program an IP station to register to the IC-EDGE controller when the station is on another LAN than the IC-EDGE Controller?

Yes, this is possible but it must be manually added as the Edge Controller and station on the other LAN won't locate each other automatically.

Can an IP stations have voice message loaded into it?

Yes, Turbine IP stations in Edge mode can have voice messages loaded into the station. An example of why you would do this would be for instance when an IP substation at a door has door release you can play a message that says "The door is open please come in". Note: Voice message can be anything you want them to be.

Does an IC-EDGE system have a built-in scheduler to do time based events?

IC Edge system does not support time scheduling to support time based events such as transfer of calls, groups, etc.

Yes, all TCIV stations running IC Edge software support dual stream option where the primary stream can be set to ONVIF S profile.

IC Edge supports calling multiple master stations at once as this is done via Ringlist settings from Edge Controller.

Can an IC-EDGE have different versions of IC-EDGE software and still work fine?

Yes, this is possible. However, depending on which software feature the end user desires, it might require that each IC Edge System is running the same software version.

How do I change the text on my stations in my IC-EDGE System.

From the Edge Controller you can change the text related to each station that is registered.

How do I modify or change the device profile my station is using in IC-EDGE System

Modifying a station's device profile is done from the Edge Controller.

My IP station is no longer registering to the IC-EDGE Controller. What could be the issue?

There are a few possibilities to consider.

1. Station powered up?

2. Has IP addressing been changed?

3. Station could be defective. Can you log into it web interface?

4. Has the station been removed from Edge Controller?

The default password for IP master stations is 1851.
